This family gets somewhat confusing in the second generation where the surname varies from Norderhaug, to Vold, to Pederson. As the siblings immigrated to the U.S. they adopted different surnames. Some based upon birthplace and some on the patronymic. Neither is unusual for Scandinavian families but it did make tracing this family a challenge.
